Shabka participates in “The Syrian Puzzle” at Malmö University

International students from Peace and Conflict Studies, working in cooperation with Utrikespolitiska Föreningen (UF) in Malmö, organised the event “The Syrian Puzzle – International and Local Perceptions” at Malmö University on December 12th, 2013.

This event aimed to inform the public about the complicated and bizarre conflict situation in Syria, including both international as well as local aspects and perspectives. This goal was achieved achieved by the participation of four guest-speakers, coming from different backgrounds, covering international and local point of views: Salim Salameh (Syrian-Palestinian activist and blogger), Jan Oberg (peace researcher & director and co-founder of the Transnational Foundation for Peace and Future Research), as well as Tyma Kraitt and Lukas Wank from Shabka joining the panel from Vienna via Sykpe.

Tyma Kraitt elaborated on the long-term socio-economical developments in Syria, including the situation in neighbouring countries while Lukas Wank concentrated on short-term military developments within Syria by highlighting the last 6-12 months.
